A.R. Brouwer Co. was the designer/builder for the modern educational center in the heart of Canton’s expanding residential neighborhoods. Built on the site of Real Life Farm and Day Camp, the school appears to be a large farmhouse with a wrap-around porch and a high mansard roof. The original nursery school building included large, airy classrooms, wide hallways, easy access to the outdoors, a sick room, a full-service kitchen, and a storm shelter in the basement for severe weather strikes. When the Real Life Nursery School experienced steady growth, an expansion was undertaken a few years later. The new building was designed and built by the A. R. Brouwer team with the same features as the first one and was connected to the original building by an enclosed walkway.
